Our commitment
The Kalamazoo Transparency Act is a civic transparency project. We believe in practicing the same openness we demand from public agencies. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, which is very little.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect personal information from visitors to this site. We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not use third party analytics services. We do not require account creation. We do not store IP addresses. We do not sell, share, or monetize any visitor data because we do not have any.
Public data API
Our public data API does not require authentication or API keys. We log request counts per IP address solely for rate limiting purposes (60 requests per minute). These logs are temporary and are not stored beyond the rate limiting window. No personal information is associated with API usage.
Contact form and email
If you contact us by email at contact@kalamazootransparencyact.com, we will receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list. We do not share your contact information with anyone.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) as part of their infrastructure. This is standard web hosting behavior and is governed by Vercel's own privacy policy. We do not access or use these logs.
External images
Some images on this site are loaded from Pexels. When your browser loads these images, Pexels may receive your IP address and standard request headers. This is governed by Pexels' own privacy policy.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. We will not reduce your privacy protections without notice.
